Architect / Interior Architect

Rees Architects is seeking a talented Architect / Interior Architect with a technical background and experience in hospitality interiors, who can help deliver exciting, creative projects. Open freelance and permanent applications.

ABOUT US

Rees Architects is an architectural practice based in East London, primarily known for our high-end private residential work. We are currently expanding into hospitality and are looking for a talented Architect / Interior Architect (on a freelance or permanent basis) to join us on an exciting series of restaurant/bar and hospitality projects.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for delivering and coordinating detailed design packages for hospitality interiors, working closely with our in-house team and appointed designers. This is a hands-on technical role, and we are looking for someone who can take a concept through to a fully coordinated set of construction drawings and specifications.

This is a great opportunity to become part of a collaborative and design-led studio.

Please note that you must have a valid UK work permit.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven experience in hospitality interior design, restaurants, bars, or similar

  • Strong technical skills and ability to produce detailed design packages

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Vectorworks 

  • Visualisation skills are a bonus

  • An eye for detail and materiality, with a confident design voice

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a small, close-knit team

  • Experience coordinating with the design team, contractors and suppliers

MAIN SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • AutoCAD or Vectorworks

  • InDesign & Photoshop

  • SketchUp & Enscape (bonus)

  • Production of Detailed Design packs for Tender and Construction

QUALITIES

  • Strong work ethic, with the ability to manage your own time

  • Teamwork and the ability to take instructions are essential 

  • Friendly and personable

  • General interest in construction processes

  • Salary / day rate discussed upon application

  • Collaborative and supportive studio environment

  • A mix of studio and remote working is available. Although some studio-based work is required
